Cored wire injection technology has been used in the steel making process for over 40 years. Although not until recently has inoculation become a major metallurgical operation in the production of high quality steel.

The use of injection cored wire into the bottom of the ladle is of vital importance in manufacturing a high quality product. The inoculation process enables a precise treatment to the metal and allows for fine adjustments to be made to its chemistry.

As North America’s leading manufacturer of cored wire for over 30 years, PC Campana’s manufacturing facility is equipped with 8 forming lines producing wire in sizes of 9mm, 13mm, 16mm & 21 mm.

Ferro Calcium (FeCa)

Castability, desulphurization, deoxidation, promotes inclusion shape control and inclusion floatation.

Calcium Silicon (CaSi)

Castability, desulphurization, deoxidation, promotes inclusion shape control and inclusion floatation.

Ferro Columbium (FeCb)

Grain refiner. Increases strength, toughness, formability and weldability of parent metal.

Ferro Molybdenum (FeMo)

Increases hardenability. Raises high-temperature strength and creep resistance. Enhances corrosion resistance in stainless steels. Reduces temper embrittlement. Resists softening by tempering. Improves weldability.

Deox Aluminum

Aluminum is a powerful deoxidizer, but due to its low density and low melting point, additions by cones or notchbar tend to float, oxidizing at a fast rate. This reduces the amount that makes contact with the steel. Aluminum wire forces the melting and release of aluminum well below the surface of the steel at a depth of 18” to 58”. This allows for recovery far higher than that of cones or notchbar and provides excellent cost savings.

Ferro Titanium (FeTi)

Grain refiner. Mild Deoxidizer. Formation of hard and stable carbide. Promotes formation of Titanium nitrides and improves corrosion resistance.

Ferro Vanadium (FeV)

Increases hardenability. Promotes fine grain size. Improves wear resistance. Increases strength and hardness.

Ferro Boron (FeB)

Increases hardenability considerably with very small additions.

Nitro Van

Increases wear resistance. Reduces strain ageing.

2, 4 & 6 path arrangements capable of feeding wire at up to 1,000 ft. /minute. Ethernet ready, Level 2 Communications and include Allen-Bradley PLC system, HMI, Operator Screens and custom wire guides.
